Tinie Tempah – Discovery – Cd Cover Analyis and Research

The album cover which I have chose to analyze is this particular one by ‘Tinie Tempah’ and the reason which I have chosen to analyze this one is because as you can see and probably already know by now that this artist specializes in the RnB/Hip hop field. The album cover is called ‘Discovery’ as you can see and the picture of the artist is quite something quite extra terrestrial in the way in which it has been edited and the effect given, it almost gives us a feel that he is something else and something that is unique and new, somewhat out of this world, I think this fits in amazingly well with the album title and immediately makes the target audience feel that this is something which they should have. Also to add to this effect the background of this album cover is of the night time sky and one where there are a numerous amount of stars and not just any stars but ones that are lit up in the most brightest way ever which makes us again feel that we are not on earth but somewhere unknown. This tells us that the artist has brought something very unique to the music industry and the thing which tells us this and to anyone even people that would be browsing a music store is the album title itself ‘Discovery’

The way in which Tinie’s pose has been created tells us a lot about this artist and what tracks the album holds, he has no facial expressions at all and within his arms he seems to be holding some sort of city which to the audience tells us that his particular music will help him to conquer the city and make it his own, doesn’t mean he’s going to make it his own in terms of ownership however his own in terms of his music being played everywhere theoretically speaking.

One feature which is always present in an album cover of this genre and to show that this particular field has all the finance it needs and most of the times more then they need is the bling which every artist brings to this genre in one way or another, ‘Tinie Tempah’ has brought that to this album cover by the use of a watch and a bracelet, both pieces of item as you can see has been tampered with to give it that additional shine, this is important that it has this because to the audience it gives the feel that the accessories used are expensive and not just things you can get at your everyday shopping centre.

Knowing that this is his first album it tells us that the tracks that are we are expected to hear in this album are all going to be related to ‘Tinie Tempah’ and we know this because in this album cover if you look carefully ‘Tinie’ is under a spotlight and the reason why this spotlight has been used to create the effect and sense of feeling that this is all about him as an individual and he is going to relate to his music on earth through something very different but that’s all this album cover tells us, if we want to find out more and know what this something else is, we have to go further and end up buying this album.
